EM Live in concert performance Tue April 28
at 7:00pm in the Jazz Cafe' in Detroits Music Hall. EM is one of many featured musicians in the Cafe's "Discovery Series" performances hosted by Detroit Public Radio host Judy Adams. "EM, is a preference for the cerebral" says Guitarist/Producer Jim Konen. With a laptop and some "open minded guitar", Konen creates Ambient, and IDM electronica mixing in bits of Funk, Jazz, and Rock. Admission is free, Adults/Teens welcome.

Live performance by EM on Monday March 23 at AJ's Cafe in Ferndale Mi. A tribute to the American Automobile, Worker, and related Car Culture AJ's Cafe presents the "Assembly Line Concert". A 240 hour continuious live music event thats gearing up to set a new Guniness World record for longest concert performance. White Robot Artist EM, will perform a live 1 hour set on Monday March 23 from 12:00pm -1:00pm. 'Assembly Line' concert for American auto industry revs up for Guinness record
coffee shop owner, activist to host 240 hours of continuous music in tribute to U.S. workers, companies
FERNDALE, Mich., January 7, 2009 -- A Detroit area coffee shop is planning to break the Guinness record for "longest concert by multiple artists" when it hosts a 10-day continuous musical tribute to the American auto industry.

The 240-hour "Assembly Line" show -- planned for March 20-30 -- will be hosted by AJ's Cafe in Ferndale, Mich., the latest in a series of events planned by cafe owner and community activist AJ O'Neil. O'Neil made headlines in March 2007, when he hosted a 50-hour "Danny Boy" marathon. He recently made national news again with his offer of a free cup of coffee to customers who pledge to buy American cars.

The Assembly Line concert will bring the two worlds together as the music marathon pays tribute to American workers, products and automobiles. The Danny Boy marathon attracted singers ranging from local business owners to the governor of Michigan. The Assembly Line will also call on musicians from all segments of society to come together in the heart of hard-hit Main Street America and help pay tribute to the down, but not out, American worker.

"We call on every manufacturing plant, every car dealership, garage mechanic to join us," O'Neil said. "We call on politicians, loan officers, credit agencies, builders to join us. We call for music to heal us in these trying times.

"We call on the corporate world to join us to help us in our Main Street solution to this American challenge."

The Assembly Line Concert will feature at least 240 acts, performing for 240 hours, nonstop, at AJ's Cafe, 240 Nine Mile Road, Ferndale, Mich.

Each of the 10 days will highlight different aspects of the American partnership between workers, employers, politicians and the media. One day, political leaders will play 24, one-hour sets; another day, auto workers; and another day, local Detroit bands. Even members of the media will have their own day to play and be a part of the big news event.

If anybody can pull off an event like this, it's AJ O'Neil, who has a history of bringing the community together for special events and causes.

In December, what began as O'Neil's small effort to show support for a bridge loan to the Big Three automakers grew into a movement and generated media coverage nationwide. His offer of a free cup of coffee to customers who sign a promise that they will buy an American-made car prompted an overwhelming response that resulted not only in O'Neil briefly running out of coffee, but also a new Web site: http://IPromiseAmerica.com, and social networking site: http://ipromiseamerica.ning.com. The online community has been growing ever since, and O'Neil plans on tying the effort to his Assembly Line concert idea.

O'Neil's 50-hour "Danny Boy" marathon last year brought prominent politicians, including Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, to his coffee shop stage. The marathon inspired a book about how the community came together for the marathon -- and about O'Neil's personal struggles. "In Sunlight or in Shadow," by Karen Wilhelm, is scheduled for release in February.

Like many, mr botty will be glad to see 2008 coming to a close. True, there is much trepidation about the coming new year as well. A lot like having bee's live in you head but, there they are! Normally I would include a shameless plug about something worthwhile for sale on this site. I still believe that however, the diverision from all things arty due to
survival is a far bigger topic.
In the coming year
White Robot will be making changes and offering lots of new music. I hope you will visit often. I also hope you will have the forsight to damn uncertainty and decide to feed your pschye. BUY ART!!! A little goes a long way. Art creates memories, and helps sooth the rough spots
in all our lives. I'm hoping 2009 will birth a great song or statement that will provide a rallying point for the much needed change in this world of ours. See you in 2009 and have a Happy New Year.

Jesse Bartlett-Webber is the latest artist inducted into the WRR fold. His new CD entitled, "Ear to the Grindstone" is now available. Please visit our music page and check out some of Jesse's music. A skilfull musician and composer this CD draws influences from Rock, Jazz, and Classical styles and features a host of musicians who assist him in accomplishing these goals.

White Robot goes live in a rare dual performance featuring mrbotty and DrXparaMental at the Zeitgeist Theatre in Detroit Sat, July 28 at 9:00pm. Well known in the Detroit area for it's "outsider art ethic". The Zeitgeist Gallery/Performance Venue celebrates it's 10th year of bringing true inovation to our fair city. My connection to this organization goes back many years as well. I hosted my first CD release party there and worked on many projects including numerous sound scores for the Zeitgeist Theatre productions. This month we are releasing a new cut Duo w/ the Dr. featuring EM and Dr. Xperimental. This is the 1st release for this newly formed duo. Check out the cut on our music page. With twice the computer power at their access. This soundtrack duo creates improvisional electronica from ambient landscapes to raw edgy groove's. This is a first of many new releases soon to be coming from these guys. We'll keep you posted.

Newly featured free mp3 downloads for January 2007. What's been on our mind for a while??? White Robot releasing a guitar- tronica record for spring 2007. We thought we'd give you a little preview in the meantime. We've really funked up the beats and added lotsa guitar to these grooves. Man this is powerfull stuff! Playing off genere's pulled from rock and fusion bands from the 60's and 70's. This is a format we began with back in the 90's with a project release called visionEar. We see this trend drifting back into peoples ears and see this as a good time to deliver here at White Robot.

Well...after finshing off with all the holiday celebrations around us. We're back here at the store adding up the numbers and we are very pleased to see your busy eyeballs and wallets focused upon us this year. Hey... were a feisty little label battling for our fair share of the market like everyone else. So we try harder to bring you our best and we'll keep on doing it this year. 2007 is going to be and interesting years for folks like us. The disasterous events at New Yorks Twin Towers is once again recalled in the minds of all Americans this weekend. There isn't one of us living who will forget what we were doing 5 years ago on that day.
That day for me was at best surreal. Like many of you I really didn't belive it was happening. I first heard about it listening to the radio and it wasn't till I saw it for myself on television with my own eyes that it was indeed for real. I have no family or friendship connection with the people who died that day but my sympathy for all of them was real and heartfelt. I was at that time finishing up a new CD project and decided to plow my feelings into a small suite of music to express my feelings. I did post and will again post them here for you to listen to. I must also say I was surprised at the response I had to this music. I didn't really expect it. So if you are so inclined, feel free to take a listen for your self. I hope you will.
